INTRODUCTION
Investigations Canada’s is a business partnership of eleven elite private investigation and security consulting firms that are in the business of conducting investigations and gathering information. The Partner firms are provincially based with thirty offices across Canada handling enquiries locally, nationally and internationally. The Partner companies collect personal information on individuals daily and understand the societal value of protecting such personal information and ensuring its safekeeping.
Investigations Canada and its Partners embrace the new Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act (PIPEDA) and acknowledge the importance of national standards to protect the personal information that we collect.
Please note that our Partners firms are properly licensed and tightly regulated by the Justice, Solicitor General or equivalent ministries of their respective provinces.
Partners will only collect personal information on individuals where there is a potential contravention of the law or breaches of agreements or other circumstances that permit us legally to collect this information under the laws of Canada. The Investigations Canada Code of Privacy follows and complies to the CSA Model Code of Personal Information Privacy and is as follows:
ACCOUNTABILITY
Investigations Canada Partner firms will be responsible for all personal information under their control. They have established a Privacy Office and designated a Chief Privacy Officer and in some instances additional Privacy officers to ensure their organization’s compliance with the policies and procedures set out in their respective Code of Conduct.
